Our First DIY Project

Ever since we moved into our house I've made a long list of projects, decorating, etc that I want to do. We finally got started on one last weekend, framing our bathroom mirrors. I first saw this project on the blog Show and Tell. I made a few adjustments so that the trim around the mirror would match the trim in our house. This was a super easy project to do and only cost us $40 for all the supplies to do the master bath and the hall bath.

Here is the before of the hall bathroom:

(yes, those are the infamous pink sweat pants!)

And here is the after:

And after:

I still have some touching up to do but overall I am really happy with how it turned out. I think it gives the mirrors more of a finished look. Now, on to the next project!

Five Days in the Sun

Last week we went on a five day vacation to California. Zach earned this trip as a reward from work for doing well. So, what's better than a five day vacation? A FREE five day vacation! We had a blast! We left Graham with my parents (and no, I don't feel bad, he would not have lasted for five days of theme parks.) and we took my little sisters Jessica and Melinda with us because they had never been to Disneyland ( or anywhere we went, or even on an airplane) so we were excited to see them experience it.
The first day we arrived we spent all day in Disneyland. Then that night drove to San Diego and spent the night.
The next day we did San Diego zoo and Sea world. It was a packed day but we wanted to do both parks so we just hit the main attractions at the zoo and then went over to Sea World. It worked out perfect. After Sea World we headed over to the beach for a bit while the sun set.
Day number three we were back up in Anaheim and did California adventure. By the way, if you're in Disneyland, be sure to see the new World of Color show at California adventure, it was a-mazing! And also the new Toy Story ride is a blast.
Day four we did Disneyland AGAIN :)
and Day five we went to Universal Studios and then flew home that night. We loved it but were all a little theme-parked out by the last day.

At the beach...

We had such a great time and the weather was PERFECT!! It was sunny and in the upper 70s the whole time we were there. We're missing the sun a little.

Daddy's Little Helper

All ready to go outside~The ONLY downside we have found so far of owning our own home is having to shovel the snow... but at least Graham loves it :)

Christmas 2010

We had an awesome Christmas this year. We loved spending Christmas eve with my family and Christmas day with Zach's family.
The Christmas tree was a little tricky getting home this year. We had a very slow drive home constantly looking behind us to see if the tree had fallen off the car.

This is us in our Christmas jammies. Don't even get me started on the pink 1980s sweat suit that Zach picked out for me...
Grahm got this puppy tent for Christmas. He loved it for a few minutes.

Zach's mom gave us all the movie Despicable Me which came with these cute glasses. None of the boys liked them...
And of course we had to get some pictures of the annual trip to temple square :)

I can't believe the holidays are over already! With us moving into our new house we were so busy and preoccupied, I feel like we didn't focus on Christmas until the last minute. I feel like I missed out a little :( But we are excited for the new year and we hope you all have a great 2011!

Would You Like A Tour?

We have been in our new house for two weeks now! And we are L.O.V.I.N.G. it!!! I may have gone overboard with so many pictures but there are just so many things I love about our new house! Please keep in mind that there are no decorations and we haven't bought any furniture yet.

The outside was a big source of stress. I was worried everything we picked wouldn't look good. And even now every time I pull up to the house I sit there and look at it and wonder... I think it's growing on me.

The front door is one of my favorite details. You can't tell from the picture but it is a big 8 footer.

I also enjoy the garage door. Come to think of it, I love all the doors in this house :)

This is the view from the front door.

*THE KITCHEN*
This is the view standing in the kitchen and looking into the family room. (Again, keep in mind we haven't bought furniture yet so it is all still play size!)

Another one of my favorite things about this house is all the big windows that let in lots of light :)

The kitchen floor.

This is the design of all the doors in our house. I love them. I also love the molding. This is my pantry door, and this is the inside below...
It wraps all the way around and is soooo spacious! I love it. Have I been saying "love" a lot? Well I do.

The picture doesn't do it justice but the stairways are nice and wide.

Master bedroom. Very plain, but I have big plans.

This is the view from our bedroom window. I love that we don't have neighbors across the street. Just lots of horses.

Graham's room
I just had to get a close up of these cute letters my sister Marie made for us. I LOVE them!

Love! Love! Love!! Just had to get a few more in there! ;)

We've been having lots of fun looking at furniture and have a couple pieces on the way. I am in heaven making decorating plans.
Visitors welcome any time!
